My Therapeutic Approach
Ready to take the next step? I'll be here to support you.

Sessions with me are chill and informal - you will have space to vent about various life events, explore patterns of behaviour, and discuss any connections between factors that may have influenced your current situation. I like to fill sessions with humour when necessary and making it seem like a casual conversation. Some days might be a bit harder than others to draw out humour, but I welcome any tears or words of frustration that may help better express yourself.

I support clients with emotional identification and processing emotions that are hard to process alone. We work collaboratively to explore past and current events that have been contributing to your concerns, and find ways to help process, reduce, and manage those concerns. Of course, life happens and things may seem unmanageable and overwhelming when it happens, but my mission is to create a safe and non-judgemental space to help you talk about and process your thoughts and emotions.

Individuals work with me for different lengths of time depending on their goals, frequency, and needs.

Short-term therapy will help with understanding and practicing emotional identification and processing, and developing skills to help cope with stressors. It can help with creating changes in your life to help improve your daily-functioning and mental health, as well as better manage your symptoms.

Long-term therapy will help with understanding deeper emotions and experiences, identify maladaptive thoughts and behavioural patterns, and help create and maintain new habits that are a step forward towards your ideal lifestyle and daily functioning. During our time together, we will try to find the best suit skills and techniques that will help create habits in your life to better maintain coping, emotional processing, and thought processing skills.

A quote that I'd like to share is "practice makes progress, not perfect." We often don't notice how far we've come until we sit back and look back on how much we've accomplished or changed. I would love to acknowledge your resiliency and support your goals.

My area of focus with clients is to help with self-awareness, self-compassion, and encourage self-growth in and out of therapy sessions. Many of my experiences includes supporting high performing individuals such as athletes, as well as high school students and post-secondary students, and those struggling with emotion regulation. However, I also has experience in supporting those with addictions and substance abuse disorders, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety including social anxiety and performance anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, low motivation, interpersonal and family conflict, grief and loss including pet loss, infertility and parenting, boundaries and relationships, stress and burnout, as well as issues related to self-esteem.

Private insurance and workplace/school health benefit plans vary and often make a distinction between psychology services, psychotherapy services, and social work services. I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to your session to confirm that they cover psychotherapy services and/or support groups (NOT group therapy).

I do not bill directly to insurance companies and require full payment prior to each session or 10-minutes afterwards. Payment options include, Visa, Mastercard, and E-Transfer for convenience and variety. An invoice is always provided after payment, which includes the psychotherapist's registration/license number, supervisor's full name, supervisor's designation title, and supervisor's registration/license number. It is your responsibility to follow the reimbursement process with your insurance company.
Late Policy
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
I have a late policy, which I will wait until 15-minutes after the scheduled session time and upon arrival, there will be no additional time accommodated. This session will be considered a shorter session, but will still be charged as the full session amount.

I have a cancellation within 24 hours and no-show policy, in which the full session amount will be charged to the credit card on file. This invoice would not be covered under insurance.
